Managing Program Control and Variance
Our control system is designed to track and control all cost, schedule, and technical elements of contract and task order performance by providing current, accurate information on work progress, staffing, anticipated resource requirements, and other major topics that affect task continuity. The system accounts for all stages of a task order life cycle, from the preparation of our task proposal through the daily monitoring and controlling of task performance. Our process for managing variance is the key to maintaining program control:
Managing Multiple Projects
To perform simultaneous task orders of varying technical requirements, staffing levels, and duration; we maintain:
|
|
 |
- Detailed task plans with clearly defined tasks, subtasks, and elements
- Clearly defined roles and responsibilities for meeting project objectives
- Detailed schedules, including major milestones and critical paths
- Timely access to and dissemination of accurate information using effective tools and communications
- Tight control of project resources to ensure the highest levels of safety and quality assurance

Managing Accelerated Schedules
We focus on three basic components of a staffing plan to be able to deliver the most qualified personnel at the appropriate time to meet accelerated task requirements.
Recruiting
Our recruiting efforts focus on filling task order positions within the required response times with technically skilled, qualified personnel who can enhance the quality of task order performance. The primary mechanism for identifying qualified candidates during the period of performance is a resume database of individuals with technical skills and backgrounds highly relevant to those skill-sets required for ongoing contracts. These factors contribute to our ability to retain a dedicated professional staff. |

|
| Training
We believe the periodic update training of employees and maintenance of technical proficiency in relevant functional area skills is a nonnegotiable standard. Because our team places a premium on productivity-enhancing innovation, we maintain a technical staff trained on current techniques and methodologies that apply to assigned tasks. We have implemented training programs on numerous current and past contracts and will remain equally committed to ongoing training of the project staff. Internal training will keep employees current on a variety of technical subjects; cross training will give employees a comprehensive understanding of the total program by exposing them to other areas of work; and replacement training will minimize loss of productivity caused by the unexpected departure or incapacitation of staff members.
