NEEDED SERVICES
HRE is providing Quality Assurance Services related to roofing repairs and debris removal and other Related Construction Services for the Corps in Hurricane Rita impacted areas of Texas.
PROJECT DATA
As the largest small business contractor associated with Hurricane Rita, we are presently providing QA Inspectors in 17 Southeast Texas counties (the size of Maryland). Approximately 300 personnel are associated with this project that ends in February 2006.
HRE SOLUTION
HRE is prime contractor and operate from our Beaumont, Texas office. Less than 40 hours after contract award, we had 55 employees on the ground working. Utilizing the Stafford Act, HRE hired 98 percent of local residents in the hurricane impacted areas.

NEEDED SERVICES
The Texas Department of Transportation required mechanical and electrical engineering services for rest sites/stops in the Houston District.
PROJECT DATA
Project requirements included providing electrical power systems and power grid engineering for the lighting of the parking, restrooms, vending machines, and associated open spaces at rest stops
HRE SOLUTION
An overall electrical system plan was developed and integrated at each site to provide an overall electrical solution for each rest stop.
Construction design solutions and utilizing cost-effective Value Engineering Procedures (VEP) were implemented for this project.
