HRE, Inc. has an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer with a background in high voltage substations. Responsibilities: Electrical engineering design for industrial, manufacturing, and utilities projects; perform electrical studies including load flow, short circuit studies, coordination studies, energy audits and code compliance; develop electrical engineering documents including Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Interconnections, Panel Drawings, Elementaries, Specifications, I/O Diagrams, Motor Lists, and Power Plans; responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical engineering/design efforts on multi-discipline engineering projects; and work closely with our clients to identify their specific requirements and implement cost-effective solutions for the high-performance and reliable operation of their power system. Qualifications: 10+ years experience in the engineering design of industrial power distribution systems including substations, motor control, lighting, backup power systems, and energy conservation; BSEE and Professional Engineer registration in the State of Texas; experience supervising engineers, designers and drafters as part of an electrical design team; must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills; ideal candidate will be able to perform detail design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations to include one-line diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, construction cost estimates and project scheduling; and experience in 15kV through 500kV substation design preferred; and some travel required.
